Nyonje Raphael
Prof. Raphael Nyonje is currently Associate Professor in the Department of Open Learning programmes, School of Open and Distance Learning, Open Distance and e-Learning Campus. He has 13 years’ experience in programmes management, teaching, research and evaluation at the University level. His major achievement as a coordinator of the University of Nairobi activities was in 2016 when he together with other colleagues consolidated various University academic Units in Kisumu into one entity - The Kisumu Campus Complex. As a coordinator, Research Evaluation and lifelong Learning courses, Prof. Nyonje has managed to develop and implement three market driven lifelong learning short courses that have so far generated over KSh. 2 Million for the University. Over the years, he has also assisted in developing various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes for School of Open and Distance Learning (SODL) and University of Nairobi Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases (UNITID) in his area of specialization. The most current programme being a two year Fellowship programme in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E). Currently, he is a member of the University of Nairobi Strategic Planning Committee which is charged with the responsibility of crafting University of Nairobi strategy for 2018 to 2023. At the community level, he is the chairman of International Project Monitoring and Evaluation Society (IPROMES), an organization that consolidates project monitoring and evaluation professionals for the purpose of impacting positively in sustainable development.
