Mr. George Ndege Nyaga was born in Meru County, Kenya in 1976. He is a master’s degree candidate in the Department of Open and distance learning (ODel) at the University of Nairobi, He graduated with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree from the same University in 2001. His area of specialization being Economics and Sociology. He is a Certified Public accountant (CPA) K graduate. He has done Senior Management course from Kenya School of Government. He has 14 years of experience implementing youth and women empowerment projects in different parts of Kenya. He has coordinated several Government of Kenya programmes focusing on ending unemployment and eradicating poverty among the youth and women in the counties. He is currently the Sub County Youth Development Officer Isiolo North and National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF) Coordinator Isiolo County.

This study sought to establish the influence project implementation practices such as of technical capacity, funding practices, management structure and monitoring and evaluation processes on performance of Uwezo fund supported projects in Isiolo North Constituency. The target population of the study was 232 groups supported by Uwezo fund in Isiolo North between the years 2014 to 2019. A sample of 147 was selected using proportionate sampling method. A semi structured questionnaire was used in data collection. The study found a unit change in the score of technical capacity would positively change the performance of the projects by 0.097. The funding practices to a moderate extent influence performance of the projects with a unit change in the score of project funding practices increasing the performance of Uwezo fund supported projects in by 0.150. The management structure to a great extent influence performance of Uwezo fund projects with a unit change in the score of project management practices leading to an increase in performance of the projects by 0.067. The unit change in the score of project monitoring and evaluation processes would increase the performance of the projects by 0.0203. The study established that there is a significant relationship between project implementation practices and performance of Uwezo fund supported projects. The study recommended loan processing period to be minimized. The study concluded that, working management structures enables fund reach the community. The M&E teams should be formed with inclusivity of all stakeholders and adequately facilitated to routinely carry their functions.
